feeling today: dorky
listening to: Boyfriend talking
Me, my little sister and my boyfriend went to a friend of the family today, to play boardgames whith him and a couple of friends of him.
I really like boardgames. I love playing Settlers of Catarn. That is so great. Me and my boyfriend only have the standard Settlers game, but this friend of ours have all kinds of add-ons and expantions. It is really great!
Previously we played with Seafearers, and that is really entertaining, but to day we tried a historical scenario! Way better. We played a historical scenario about the great wall in China. It works pretty much the same as the standard game, no special rules really, in the game it self. However, there is a lot more to the game this way. In addition to playing the standard game you know have to maintain your little part of the Chinese wall. It adds a whole other dimension to the game. Now your reasources suddenly have another purpouse, in addition to just expanding, which now also gets more of a purpouse than just winning the game.
Well, it was really genious. The first time, I managed to place the two first settlements pretty well. For those of you who are reading this and have played the game, you know that the placing of the two first settlements and roads starts with the first playere, then goes a round and back again at the last player, so that the last player gets to place his/hers settlements at one time. Well, in this scenario deal you have three settlements at first, one which is to be placed at a mark by the wall. So it goes one extra round. I was the last player. But, unfortunatly, the person next to me didn't build any wall, so my supplies was cut of by the evil people of the steppes. Hehe... Well, it was fun anyway. The next round, I just sucked!
Sooooo... I am such a geek! I've been ranting on about the game now. Humm.. Whatever. Might be that some of you actually are interested in games, and then you might find this slightly amusing, but who knows!
